“OUR AIM IS FOR THIS STRUCTURE TO STAND ON PILLARS OF CREATIVITY, SERVICE, WHOLEHEARTEDNESS AND SUSTAINABLE LIVING. THAT’S HOW MY WELLNESS JOURNAL WAS BORN.”

HOW DID WE START?

Driven by a compelling need to scratch a creative itch, our founder, Ruchika, left her job as a cubicle dweller. Once she abandoned her 9:00 a.m. to always-after-5:00 p.m. routine, she suddenly had the freedom to do the things she loved rather than simply daydream about them. In search of a tattoo design to symbolise the start of this journey, she came across Elizabeth Gilbert’s quote — A creative mind is like owning a border collie. It must be given something to do or it will find something to do. And you will not like the things it finds to do. Ruchika could no longer leave her ‘border collie mind’ unattended. Creating structure became important...

How can we help you?

Structure to a human is like a loom to a weaver or a doorframe to a spider. Our aim is for this structure to stand on pillars of creativity, service, wholeheartedness and sustainable living. That’s how our first product, My Wellness Journal was born. A year in the making, My Wellness Journal will help you discover your personal style of wellbeing and productivity. We believe discovering your personal style is the most precious clue to finding your genius. My Wellness Journal is designed to furnish you with rich clues for the nourishment, direction and design of your life

HOW DO WE CONTRIBUTE?

We proudly donate 10% from each Wellness Journal sale to a not-for-profit foundation called New LightStarted by Urmi Basu, New Light operates deep inside the red light community of Kalighat in Calcutta, India. The project provides the children of sex workers a safe haven during the evening hours when their mothers are working and the streets are the most dangerous. My Wellness Journal will be sponsoring two New Light initiatives, Soma Home and Sonar Tori, to support the education and rehabilitation of women and young girls who are either victims of human trafficking or are at risk of being trafficked.

DISCLAIMER…

There were times when confidence eluded us. On some days Shel Silverstein’s humorous poem Fancy Dive resonated with us – where its diver “somersaulted nine times and a quarter… looked down and saw that the pool had no water!” These were moments during the creation of My Wellness Journal where we faced road blocks (when we looked down and saw that the pool had no water!). But it was times such as these we had well-wishers cheering us on. We were reminded, ‘try something, anything – even if that means throwing a pebble in the pond’.

If we were to summarise our story, it is a story of throwing a pebble in the pond in the hope that it creates a ripple effect of sustainable change in lives of many.

Here are key members of team necessities. Our gratitude to all those who have collaborated with us.
